02.26.07 David Remnick drafts a nice little piece of hopeful in this weeks' New Yorker, waxing poetic on Al Gore and speculating that he may well be considering a deus ex machina candidacy in 2008, should the current crop of excellent hopeful beat each other beyond recognition trying to get there. Sounds like a bit of a silver bullet. # 02.21.07 This American Life is coming to TV. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Get Showtime and let me know. Here's a trailer. It looks amazing. # 02.11.07 Since I got my new MacBook Pro (almost a year ago!) I've come to rely on the two-finger scrolling feature. I mean, I love it. I couldn't live without it. But I've always been bothered to find that, on web sites, I can't scroll past Google text ads or flash based content. For some reason, when scrolling down a long web page (say, a blog) as soon as the cursor encounters one of these ads, it gets stuck. Anyway, I just installed three or four security updates (I was behind) and found that somehow, one of them fixed this little glitch. What a nice surprise! # 02.02.07 I'm less concerned by our mayor's infidelity than I am by the surging crime in many formerly safe neighborhoods, worsening Muni situation and South of Market development that seems, while needed, to be happening completely unchecked.
