07.31.06 I love Said the Gramophone. It's one of my favorite ways to find cool new stuff. Like this track from (previously unknown to me) Tap Tap, called Way To Go, Boy. All the stuff I love, really loose, jumpy instrumentation, a stumbling drum-line, and completely nutty arrangement. And the award for "Best Use Of An Accordion In 2006". # 07.29.06 Owen Wilson proves that while he's not an especially selective actor, he does have a pretty good sense of humor. # Shipshape daughters, these shipshape sons. The great Danielson sing-along. Now for download, on the right. # 07.27.06 Have you seen this? Probably not without falling asleep. You dirty hipster. It's interesting, because Microsoft's iPod "killer" (more like attempted manslaughter, or attempted suicide) came across my radar (through the ad world) a few months ago. It looked like a POS then and still does. There was a fleeting thought however, that MS might actually be able to pull off some cool advertising with this product. Clearly I was wrong. Very, very wrong. Also, sorry for the lack of posting. Lots'o work recently. Obviously not for Microsoft work. # 07.14.06 Silly, kind of cute, kind of gross; ad agency Publicis UK has created a goofy little viral spot for Charmin all about the various euphemisms we use when we need their product. And here I am being all viral with it. # 07.11.06 I'm very interested to see the new documentary Who Killed The Electric Car, which is playing just up the street. But this post to a newsgroup offers an interesting rebuttal to the movie's central premise. It's not an out-and-out rejection of the film, but it does raise some questions. Mostly makes me want to go see it even more, actually. # An interesting article at the IHT on changing visual attitudes and the rise of the serif font georgia across the web. # « June 2006 | archive index | August 2006 » built with movabletype |
